As the age limit battle continue to rage on, Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze has revealed that opposition MPs are ready to die for the constitution.
Addressing the press at Parliament on Wednesday, Nambooze said as anti age limit bill legislators they are ready to be martyrs for Uganda in the name of protecting the constitution from the NRM regime.
The legislator further noted that even the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga is a captive of the military regime which took over the country.
She said Kadaga is not free however much she wants to treat the opposition fairly, she cannot do so.
“The speaker is also a captive of the military regime that has taken over this country. It’s very clear she isn’t free, she would have loved to be free and treat us well but she can’t. Those people would have captured her if she hadn’t chased us out of the parliament on 27th September. We want NRM to know that we are not here to fight but we are ready to be martyrs for our country.” She said.
