Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze will have to move with a doctor’s letter to explain the metal in her body before checking in security detectors.
Manipal Hospital in India where the legislator was operated from recently, has released a letter which Nambooze will be presenting at security check points to show that she has metals in her body.
According to Dr. Vidyadhara S, a consultant spine surgeon, Nambooze is given the certificate to facilitate her transit through metal detectors in airports, shopping malls among others.
It should be noted that the legislator underwent a spine surgery and her spine was implanted with metals after being flown to India confined in a wheelchair as she could not move her spinal cord.
She was one of the anti age limit MPs who faced the wrath of security officers at parliament in September during a fracas over age limit bill.
Nambooze has however been discharged and will return to India in two months time.
She wrote on her facebook page;
Nange nnemeddeko nga Mugabe… I return this Week with a “metal backbone” tutandikire wetwakoma.Thanks for your prayers we hope to be with you on Thursday at 1:00pm. The honour be given to Lord our God.
