Since this week started Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze has been suffering from severe head and chest pains after being shot by a rubber bullet on the head by police in Masaka during a scuffle when she was trying to attend a meeting organized by Mathius Mpuuga the area MP.
Few days back she was rushed to Nsambya Hospital while in critical condition and apparently she is under medical treatment in a non disclosed place.
Today parliament has come out to speak out on the legislator’s health condition.
According to parliament Director of communications Chris Obore, Nambooze is out of danger except for the throat irritation that is giving her cough.
“The doctors have advised her to keep out of phone for some days and also avoid talking to people for some days. She is advised to stay away from stress. She has been advised not to receive many visitors as it will force her to talk a lot yet rest is recommended. She will make a statement after doctors have cleared her to resume public life,” Obore stated.
Meanwhile, Nambooze had this to say about her current condition, “Dear comrades, am Catching up…my problems remains severe headache and on and off congestion of the respiratory system and head got a problem of inflammatory tissues,”
