The minister of Gender, Labour and Social development, Janat Mukwaya has raised concern over the high rate girl children dropout of schools in the country.
Mukwaya says while many girls are admitted in schools, few complete primary and secondary levels with those who strive getting pregnant ending up in marriages.
The minister was responding to reports of low female enrollment at Mukono Town Muslim primary school in Mukono district during a dedication service ahead of the primary seven final exams.
She also called upon the Muslim community to consider girl child education as something crucial.
