HIV/AIDS remains the leading cause of death among adolescents in Uganda.
Accordingly to statistics by the ministry of Health, in 2014 alone, 2.6 million children were living with HIV/AIDS.
Minister of children and youth affairs, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi said due to the problem, the government is implementing a Tripple 90% strategy which will help to eliminate more deaths.
The strategy will involve testing, medication and immunity boasting.
In order for the ministry of Health to spearhead its cause, it has organised a three day conference starting from today in Kampala with the aim of reducing stigma and discrimination towards the HIV /AIDS infected people.
