90.4 Dembe FM one of the best urban Luganda radio stations remains switched off into the third day.
Uganda Communications Commission raided Dembe FM studios at Monitor Publications office in Namuwongo on Friday, and took away its equipment saying they’re not meeting the required standards.
The Government officials also claimed some programs don’t meet broadcasting standards.
Watchdog understands that the radio managers tried to ask for time to sort out the matter in vain. It was clear UCC had something up its sleeves.
Dembe FM is largely an entertainment and educational radio channels.
Dembe FM surely doesn’t have the oldest equipment in the town or Kampala city, to be the only one to be switched off.
