A Chinese business mogul, Mr Zhang Paul, the Managing Director Tian Tang Group, has given tips to fellow businessmen on how and why they should treat their customers in order to have successful businesses.
Mr Zhang, whose runs a multi-million dollar industrial complex in Mukono and several businesses in Kampala, told business owners and managers that a happy customer is the key to any successful business venture.
“Treat customers like you would treat your wife or husband,” said he as he hosted hundreds of suppliers from across Uganda to a dinner at his Nanjing hotel on Lugogo bypass in Kampala on Saturdayevening.
Mr Zhang said business was about relationships, not necessarily money.
“It is about making friends. Once a customer, make them a friend for life,” he shared one of the secrets behind his successful conglomerate.
“When I see my customers happy, I am very happy too,” he said to the audience who nodded on his every word.
Mr. Sebaggala M. Kigozi, the executive director of Uganda Manufacturers association hailed the Chinese businessman including his partners, for spearheading the production of quality products here in Uganda. Mr Kigozi said Zhang treated his suppliers and customers with respect and utmost honesty and that was why he had succeeded in Uganda.
Tian Tang Group is an industrial complex located on a 33 acre land in Mbalala in Mukono district. The company is involved in the production of steel products, wood, and leather products as well as mattresses.
The company employs more than 1,000 people directly and thousands more indirectly.
Tian Tang management says 70 percent of the products made at their factories are consumed in Uganda and 30 percent are exported in the region including South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo.
