The angry Kampala City Traders Association(KACITA) members led by their spokesperson,Issa Sekitto today have pleaded to the kampala city lord mayor,Elias Lukwago not to allow vendors operate on any street of Kampala.
Issa Sekitto says the act of gazetting some streets for the vendors to operate on,it’s like forcefully keeping the vendors on streets by some Kampala City Council Authority(KCCA) officials yet they disorganize the city and businesses as well.
Early this week, the lord mayor together with some councillors passed a partly resolution to gazette some streets for the vendors to operate on until an permanent alternative is reached.
It should be remembered that last week the minister for Kampala,Betty Kamya while addressing journalists at the media centre, passed an eviction notice ordering all vendors in the city to vacate all streets of kampala which action Lukwago oppossed saying, the vendors couldn’t be evicted without giving them an alternative.
